Spaceful

Privacy policy

Who we are

Spaceful is published by Hamperpick. Hamperpick is the trading name of Hamperpick Ventures LLP.

This policy explains what information Spaceful (“the app”) handles, why, and the choices you have. It applies only to the app; the Hamperpick website has its own privacy policy.

In short

The app works without an account and does not ask for your name or email. It has no ads, no analytics and no tracking. It looks at your files on your phone itself and never sends them, or anything about you, to us. Files leave your phone only when you choose to copy them somewhere yourself. We do not sell information about you.

Your files

To show what uses space, the app looks at the files in your phone’s storage, and at how much space each app uses and when it was last opened. This happens on your phone; the app does not upload your files or a list of them anywhere.

Nothing is removed unless you choose it. When you remove files, the app moves them to a folder on your phone called Spaceful Undo, kept out of your gallery, where you can put them back for 7 days, unless you choose to delete them for good. After 7 days they are deleted the next time you open the app, or straight away if you empty Undo yourself.

Permissions

The app asks for these permissions, and uses them only for what is listed. The ones you grant in your phone’s settings, such as All files access, you can take back there at any time.

Copying files to your computer

If you choose to send files to a computer on the same Wi-Fi, the app runs a small, temporary web page on your phone. Only devices on your Wi-Fi can reach it, the computer must enter a 4-digit code shown on your phone, and the page stops as soon as you leave that screen.

Only the files you chose are offered, and they go straight from your phone to your computer over your own network, not through the internet or any server of ours. So that the computer can find your phone by a short name, the app announces that name on your Wi-Fi while the page is open.

Saving to other apps

If you choose Google Drive, the files you picked are handed to the Google Drive app on your phone, which uploads them to your own account. From then on Google Drive’s privacy policy applies to them; we do not receive them.

Information stored on your device

The app keeps the following on your device so it can work. None of it is sent to us:

Backups

The app’s settings are left out of Android’s device backups, so they are not copied to your Google account.

Crash reports and statistics from Google

If you have chosen to share usage and diagnostics data with Google on your phone, Google Play may give us crash reports and statistics such as how many people installed the app. These do not identify you. The app itself contains no crash reporting or analytics code.

How we use information

Information is used only to:

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent information about you, and the app contains no advertising or analytics code from other companies. We share information only if the law requires it.

Keeping and deleting your data

Deleting the app deletes everything it stored on your device.

Files waiting in Undo are yours, not the app’s, so deleting the app leaves them in the Spaceful Undo folder. To free that space, empty Undo before you delete the app, or delete that folder with a file manager afterwards.

To ask about or delete any information connected to you, email contact@hamperpick.in.

Children

The app is for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, email contact@hamperpick.in and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. Significant changes will also be noted in the app’s Google Play listing.
