Privacy policy

Who we are

Facing Page is published by Hamperpick. Hamperpick is the trading name of Hamperpick Ventures LLP.

This policy explains what information Facing Page (“the app”) handles, why, and the choices you have. It applies only to the app; the Hamperpick website has its own privacy policy.

In short

The app works without an account and does not ask for your name or email. It has no ads, no analytics and no tracking. What you read and save stays on your device and is not sent to us. We do not sell information about you.

Permissions

The app asks for these permissions only when you turn on the feature that needs them, and uses them only for what is listed. You can take them back at any time in your device’s Settings.

Information stored on your device

The app keeps the following on your device so it can work. None of it is sent to us:

Backups

Like other app data, it is included in your device’s backups (in iCloud or on a computer) if you make them, and it comes back when you restore one. Those backups are kept by Apple or on your computer, not by us.

Subscription and payments

Facing Page Pro is sold through the App Store as a yearly or a monthly subscription that renews automatically, or a one-time purchase. Apple takes the payment; we never see your card or payment details, your name or your Apple Account.

To know whether you have bought it, the app asks Apple on your device. Apple’s sales reports to us do not identify you. Apple’s handling of payments is covered by Apple’s privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

When you write to us

Ask for help, in Settings, opens your own email app with a message to contact@hamperpick.in already started. Besides what you write, it includes the app’s version number and your device’s system version. Nothing is sent unless you send it yourself.

Suggest a feature or a book, in Settings, opens your own email app with a message to contact@hamperpick.in already started. Besides what you write, it includes the app’s version number and your device’s system version. Nothing is sent unless you send it yourself.

When you email us, from the app or otherwise, we receive your email address and what you write, and use them only to answer you and to correct the content.

Features that run on your device

Translation uses Apple's Translation framework on your device. The first time, your device may download a language from Apple; the text you read is not sent anywhere.

Dictionaries, recorded pronunciations and audiobooks download from Apple's servers, like the app itself; the download carries nothing about what you read.

Previously in… uses Apple's on-device model, where Apple Intelligence is on, to retell the pages you last read; the text stays on your device.

The Save to Facing Page button in Safari's share sheet keeps the text of the page you share, on your device.

The Home Screen widgets show the words waiting for review and a sentence of the day, from the data already on your device.

The Shortcuts actions open the app on your device.

Exporting your saved words for Anki makes a file that you choose where to send, through the share sheet.

All of this happens on your device and nothing is sent to us.

Crash reports and statistics from Apple

If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers on your device, Apple may give us crash reports and statistics such as how many people installed the app. These do not identify you. You can change this choice in your device’s Settings, under Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

How we use information

Information is used only to:

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent information about you, and the app contains no advertising or analytics code from other companies. We share information only if the law requires it.

Keeping and deleting your data

Deleting the app deletes everything it stored on your device.

Apple keeps its records of your subscription as needed for receipts, refunds and the law.

We keep emails you send us for as long as we need them to answer you and to correct the content. To have yours deleted, email contact@hamperpick.in.

Children

The app is for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, email contact@hamperpick.in and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. Significant changes will also be noted in the app’s App Store listing.
