Who we are
LLM Vitals is published by Hamperpick. Hamperpick is the trading name of Hamperpick Ventures LLP.
This policy explains what information LLM Vitals handles, in both its editor extension and its command-line tool. It applies only to LLM Vitals; the Hamperpick website has its own privacy policy.
In short
LLM Vitals runs entirely on your computer. It makes no network connections, has no account, analytics or tracking, and sends nothing to us or anyone else.
Information kept on your computer
LLM Vitals keeps the following on your computer so it can work. None of it is sent to us:
- When you turn on the Claude Code status line, a copy of the small LLM Vitals status line script in Claude Code's folder (~/.claude/llm-vitals/statusline.cjs)
- Your LLM Vitals settings (how often it reads new log lines and how far back it counts a session as active) and whether it has offered the Claude Code status line, kept by the editor
What passes through it
LLM Vitals reads the session logs Claude Code and Codex keep on your computer (in ~/.claude/projects and ~/.codex/sessions). From each reply it uses only the token counts, model, times, rate limits and project folder. The text of your conversations is read past in memory and is never kept, shown or written anywhere.
Files it changes
When you ask it to connect, LLM Vitals changes these files, and only these:
The command LLM Vitals: Disable in Claude Code Status Line, or npx llm-vitals setup --undo takes its changes out again. Uninstalling the extension does not, so run that command first.
- Claude Code's ~/.claude/settings.json, only when you turn on the status line, to set its statusLine entry and nothing else; a copy of the file is saved next to it the first time, and a status line from another tool is never replaced
Downloads and updates
You install and update LLM Vitals through the Visual Studio Code Marketplace, which Microsoft runs (privacy statement: https://privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement); Open VSX, which the Eclipse Foundation runs for Cursor, Windsurf, VSCodium and other editors (privacy policy: https://www.eclipse.org/legal/privacy/); or npm, which GitHub runs, for the command-line tool (privacy policy: https://docs.npmjs.com/policies/privacy). Each counts downloads under its own policy, and VS Code may collect telemetry under Microsoft’s privacy statement and your VS Code telemetry setting.
LLM Vitals adds nothing to any of this, and we see only download counts that do not identify you.
Who we share it with
Nobody: we do not receive information from LLM Vitals, so there is nothing to sell or share. We would share information only if the law required it.
Deleting your data
Run LLM Vitals: Disable in Claude Code Status Line, or npx llm-vitals setup --undo, then uninstall the extension, and the command-line tool if you installed it with npm.
You can also delete the files listed above yourself at any time.
If you write to us
If you email contact@hamperpick.in, we use your address and message only to answer you, and delete them when asked.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when LLM Vitals changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
