Who we are
Agent Chime is published by Hamperpick. Hamperpick is the trading name of Hamperpick Ventures LLP.
This policy explains what information Agent Chime (“the extension”) handles. It applies only to the extension; the Hamperpick website has its own privacy policy.
In short
The extension runs entirely on your computer. It does not connect to the internet, has no account, analytics or tracking, and sends nothing to us or anyone else. The only connection it makes is to VS Code on the same computer, over 127.0.0.1.
Information kept on your computer
The extension keeps the following on your computer so it can work. None of it is sent to us:
- A small script in ~/.agent-chime that Claude Code and Codex run when an agent starts, finishes or needs your approval
- For each open VS Code window, a file in ~/.agent-chime/windows with the local port the window listens on and a random code that proves a report came from that script; it is deleted when the window closes
- Your Agent Chime settings (sounds and volume) and whether sounds are muted, kept by VS Code
What passes through it
When an agent finishes or stops to ask for approval, the script sends VS Code a short report over 127.0.0.1 (this computer only) saying which agent it was, what happened, and the first line of the agent's last message or of the command it wants to run. VS Code shows it in a notification and the status bar, holds it in memory while the window is open, and never writes it to disk.
Files it changes
When you ask it to connect, the extension changes these files, and only these:
The command Agent Chime: Disconnect Claude Code and Codex takes its changes out again. Uninstalling the extension does not, so run that command first.
- Claude Code's ~/.claude/settings.json, to add the hooks that run the script; a copy of the file is saved next to it the first time
- Codex's ~/.codex/hooks.json, to add the hooks that run the script; a copy of the file is saved next to it the first time
Downloads, updates and VS Code
You install and update the extension through the Visual Studio Code Marketplace, which Microsoft runs. Microsoft may count installs and collect VS Code telemetry under its own privacy statement (https://privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement) and your VS Code telemetry setting; the extension adds nothing to it, and we see only install counts that do not identify you.
Who we share it with
Nobody: we do not receive information from the extension, so there is nothing to sell or share. We would share information only if the law required it.
Deleting your data
Run Agent Chime: Disconnect Claude Code and Codex, then uninstall the extension.
You can also delete the files listed above yourself at any time.
If you write to us
If you email contact@hamperpick.in, we use your address and message only to answer you, and delete them when asked.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the extension changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
